Bryan Hickox is a film and television Executive Producer, Producer, and Director. He started producing movies and mini-series for television 30 years ago. In that time he has produced: 70 network television movies and mini-series; 7 dramatic series; 250 hours of syndicated television shows; 10 theatrical feature films. His most recent for Miramax, "Ride" was released in February 1998 in theaters throughout the U.S.
Mr. Hickox's television movies have been nominated for sixteen Emmy awards of which he has won seven. In addition, he won the George Foster Peaboy Award, and over 200 other national and international awards. This year alone he has won 31 film festival awards and he has just recieved the prestigious Florida Motion Picture and Television Association Lifetime Achivement Award. His television movies were the highest rated movies of the year 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990 on any of the networks.
Twenty years after founding a series of highly acclaimed entertainment-oriented service companies, (among them Image Transform and Milestone Productions), he founded Hickox/Daniel Productions in 1976. In its eight years of existence, HDP saw Bryan and his partner Jay Daniel develop and produce twenty-four movies for television, five network series; and over a dozen pilots. Bryan personally directed over one hundered and sixty hours of syndicated programming. Jay and Bryan also developed and produced over ninty episodes of nationally sydicated talk shows.
Bryan founded his current company, Bryan Hickox Productions, Inc. in mid 1984 and in the next three years developed, produced and/or directed eight networks MOW's, cable movies and "Made-For-Home-Video" programs.
In January 1987,Mr. Hickox joined Fries Entertainment, Inc., a publicly held corporation, as Vice President of Production. In this capacity he worked closly with the development staff in addition to overseeing worldwide production and ppost-production on 28 theratrical feature film, television pilots, television movies, miniseries and series. While at Fries he also produced the highest rated movies of the week on all of the network television in 1987,1988,1989 and 1990.
In 1990 he reactivated Bryan Hickox Production, Inc. and since then has produced over eighteen films. Since moving his base operation to Jacksonville, Florida in the Summer of 1994, Mr. Hickox has produced seven highly acclaimed and higly rated movies-for-television, three music vidios, and direct to video feature, two concert video specials, and a feature for Miramax. He is currently producing " Safe Harbor," an Aaron Spelling pilot for the Warner Brother Network starring Gregory Harrison and Rue Mclanahan.
Mr. Hickox enjoys a Canadian Landed Immigrant status. He has produced ten films in Canada in the last twelve years and qualifies as a Canandian "content" producer. His film procution company, Bryan Hickox Pictures, Inc., is presently headquarted in the Jacksonville Production Center with offices and a soundstage in the historic Armory building located in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
