Having scored over a dozen features and made-for-TV movies, Barry Fasman has produced and/or written songs in the major motion pictures Dance with me (1998) - starring Vanessa Williams, I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997 blockbuster), and the Oliver Stone films JFK, Nixon, and Heaven and Earth.
Barry produced 6 albums of songs form the TV show FAME, selling over 4 million albums world-wide. He was RECORD PRODUCER OF THE YEAR in Great Britain in 1982. He produced Johnny Mathis for CBS Records. His arranging credits include the top 10 hits "Don't Cry Out Loud" for "Melissa Manchester, "It's My Turn" for Diana Ross, and "Every Woman in the World" for Air Supply. Other artists he has arranged and contacted for in the studio include Bill Joel, Barry Manilow, The Bay City Rollers, Dionne Warwick, Styx, George Benson, and Placido Domingo.
Barry Fasman has conducted live for Michael Bolton, James Ingram, Linda Ronstadt, Jeffrey Osborne, Brian Wilson, and Jose Feliciano, among many others. As "Foz," he is currently the music director/on-camera band leader/personality on the national television show "Extreme Gong."
As music supervisor for the off-Broadway musical hit The Last Session (at The Tiffany Theater in L.A.), Fasman received the 1998 L.A. Drama Critics Circle award for Best Music Director. He was recently honored when his "Mississippi Moon" was chosen by Disney and ASCAP for their West Coast Musical Theater workshop.
Barry Fasman is the owner and sound engineer of FOZ SOUND, a fully-automated 24-track digital recording facility in Laurel Canyon, L.A.,Ca., featuring the Yamaha O2/R digital recording console, Tascam DA-88 digital multi-track recorders, Digital Performer, Pro Tools, twelve synthesizers (featuring the Korg Trinity), various out-board and signal processing gear, plus complete on-line video lock-up.
